Twenty-six years later, the Crain siblings and their estranged father reunite after another tragedy strikes them, and they are forced to confront how their time in Hill House has affected each of them. Crystal’s neighbor, Niko Sasaki, is a new character who isn’t in the comics. Following her father’s death, she left Japan and moved to Port Townsend, Washington, for high school.

In the series, Olivia–a talented architect–also experiences aural migraines, which was actually Gugino’s idea. Later in their stay, the doctor's wife, the haughty Mrs. Montague, and her companion Arthur Parker, the headmaster of a boys' school, arrive to spend a weekend at Hill House and help investigate it. They, too, are interested in the supernatural, including séances and spirit writing. Unlike the other four characters, they do not experience anything supernatural, although some of Mrs. Montague's alleged spirit writings seem to communicate with Eleanor.
Development and production
Though the role as Nell has been Victoria Pedretti's biggest role to date, she's been in two short films titled "Sole" and "Uncovering Eden." Though it may not have been easy to notice, Henry Thomas – who played the role – has actually been a star for a very long time. The younger version of the Crain patriarch – Henry Thomas – did his best to keep the family together, but things got a little weird throughout the 10-episode thriller.

Based on the exchange of scary stories in the first episode, the hotel used to be a convent. Falling in love with Theo Crain, Levy Tran's character Trish proved the persistence in the area of love can get you what you really want. Before she landed the role as Trish though, you probably remember seeing her in a few other roles in productions like "Shameless," "The First Purge," and "Chosen Kin Origins." The actor has appeared in movies like "World War Z," "The Invitation," "The Age of Adaline," and "Irreplaceable You." Playing the role of eldest Crain sibling, when you first saw Michiel Huisman on screen, you may have had a bit of trouble placing your finger on what other shows you've seen him in. The Haunting of Bly Manor, out October 9, works with Henry James' famous works of horror, most notably A Turn of the Screw. Just like the older version of Theo, McKenna Grace's role as young Theo has quickly made the character a fan favorite. If you couldn't tell by her acting on screen, this wasn't her first go at a role.

Mike Flanagan has announced a round of new actors for The Haunting of Bly Manor. And by new, he means actors who haven’t previously appeared in The Haunting franchise. Storyline
The Haunting of Hill House received critical acclaim, particularly for its acting, directing, and production values. A follow-up series by Flanagan titled The Haunting of Bly Manor, with most of the same crew and some of the same cast but a different story and characters, was released on October 9, 2020. In contrast to the upcoming second season outing’s Henry James-inspired content, 2018’s inaugural anthology outing, The Haunting of Hill House, was a VERY loose adaptation of Shirley Jackson’s classic horror novel of the same name. That season of the show followed the Crain family and their experiences at the titular Hill House and how the trauma of living with ghosts (literal and figurative,) affects their lives as adults. In Hush, Flanagan's 2016 movie, a masked killer stalks author Maddie Young (Kate Siegel) in her remote home. The book also shows up in the Netflix movie Gerald's Game, which Flanagan directed. Looks like Netflix is becoming the new site of the Mike Flanagan horror universe, and we can't wait to be scared. Production on Flanagan's next Netflix horror series, Midnight Mass, began in August. Midnight Mass will feature two Haunting regulars–Henry Thomas and Kate Siegel, who happens to be Flanagan's wife. While Bly Manor and Hill House both feature ghosts (lots of 'em, in fact), the shows are as concerned with exploring what ghosts represent as creating jump scares.
Prior to joining this series, Timothy Hutton played Nathan in Leverage and appeared in films like Secret Window and The Good Shepherd. As an older, wiser, and much more regretful Hugh, he brings a crushing amount of sadness to the role. Set in the same universe as DC Comics’ The Sandman, the series follows the ghosts of Charles and Edwin, two boys who suffered terrible deaths at a British boarding school 70 years apart.
